Focus on Feeling Good

The #1 thing you can do to improve your life is focus on feeling good.

This can be a challenge if you think your life sucks. The first thing to do is focus on what is going well in your life. There could be 5 things in your life going well and 1 thing that sucks and what we all do is focus our attention on that 1 thing that sucks. The result is you end up bring down the 5 things that are going well. The trick is to focus on the 5 things that are going well and that 1 thing that sucks will improve.

The best way to feel better is to focus on what you appreciate. It is impossible to focus on appreciation and feel bad at the same time.

Try waking up first thing in the morning before you get out of bed and think about what you appreciate in your life. It could be the comfortable pillow, the sound of the birds or appreciation for the people you have in your life. Take a few minutes each day to get into a good feeling place before your feet hit the floor (and try to hold onto that feeling for as long as you can into the day) and after a week or two or three you will notice your entire life shift.

Now, I am not saying that feeling bad is necessarily a bad thing…more on that in a future blog post. What I am saying is that if you want to improve your daily life you will want to become aware of your emotions and do your best to feel good the majority of the time!
